
The Nokia Mobile Web Server enables you to create your own mobile web pages, blogs to your web pages using a mobile device or a computer (web browser), share content (for example, pictures) through your mobile device, share your mobile device calendar.
To use the Web Server, you need Web Server account, Web Server software and compatible mobile device (S60 3rd Edition compatible mobile device) with an internet connection.
You need to register a Web Server account at Web Server Portal, before start using the Web Server service. For all practical purposes visit mymobilesite.net. In registration section, define your user name – the user name defines your domain name and it is not possible to change your username and domain name at later stage.
Upon confirmation download and install the Web Server to your mobile. When installed, the Web Server enables the device to host globally accessible websites. Web users can access your mobile content on the internet through the mobile site.
Putting a web server on a mobile device means providing web service interface to core functionality of the device. There are also some constraints to mobile web server as compared to web servers at computers. Mobile’s processing power, connection bandwidth, battery life and data traffic costs.

The key features of MWS
Server based on Apache technology
Web server powered by Apache technology ported to Symbian OS and connectivity solution providing a mobile device with a global URL and HTTP access to it. The connectivity solution consists of a module in the mobile device and a gateway server (GW).
Access identities based on device Contacts
MWS provides user accounts to authorize the use of the server’s services.
Domains
Every MWS has its own domain http://<user_name>.mymobilesite.net . You can create an account for your own domain at the gateway.
Settings
MWS settings are managed in the UI application installed on the mobile device. The Web site appearance is defined through browser.
Access rights
You can give user accounts and groups access to your Web applications.
Authentication
The gateway can block unwanted visitors based on the filtering rules defined in the MWS settings.
Offline page
When your Mobile Web Server is unreachable, a message is shown to the visitor. You can edit the message in the MWS settings.
